Please Recommend Some 6.5" Coaxials With Silk Tweeters & Good Bass Response

It's likely that I'm going to go with an infinite baffle install for my subwoofers. Still trying to decide between using a pair of Infinity Perfect 12d VQ subs or a pair of AE IB12A subs. People have told me that I'm going to need some good mid-bass, because the output from IB subwoofer installs usually wanes significantly after about 60hz.

So can you please recommend some 6.5" or 6.75" coaxials that have strong bass response that I can put in my rear deck and doors? I'd sure appreciate it. It's time to ditch my Infinity door speakers. My factory 3.5" speakers have more bass response than them. That's pretty bad.

Also, metallic tweeters (at least all the ones I've heard before) tend to be harsh on my ears -- so please recommend ones that have silk tweeters, or some other tweeter material that doesn't make the treble harsh sounding.

Id run a tweeter in the 3.5" location and a dedicated mid in the 6.5" location. Just build MDF baffles.
I don't have the tools, space, or experience to build some baffles for them. I can have it done though. I never thought of putting tweeters in the 3.5" locations and mids in the doors. How would they sound that far apart from each other?

You could try Image dynamics ctx coaxes or the hybrid imagines. I've never heard the imagines but they have gotten alot of good reviews
Hey thanx. Yeah those ID coaxials do have silk tweeters. I worried the mounting depth is a bit too deep though. Alpine type S speakers have silk tweeters and they're fairly shallow, but I haven't heard them in person.

How is the amp tuned? What amp is it? How did you do the install? Im going to say its your tuning, install, or the amp.
I turned the gain up on the amp until I heard the Infinitys bass beginning to distort, then I turned it back a bit.

My amp is an older Hifonics. I have a switch for LP, HP, and Full. The crossovers have the lowest frequency and the highest frequency listed. Since I can't tell where my crossover would be set at in between those, I just set my switch to Full and used my HU's crossover. I switch between 50hz @ 12db and 80hz @ 12db from time to time. There's no reason for the Infinitys to ****, other then that's just how they sound.
