Holy crap, stereo wiring all-nighter.....

And my priorities at this juncture#1 - get some SLEEP

#2 - decide whether to relocate kinetik and move port away from hatch, dynamat the hatch, or sell the kickers (I AM NOT BUYING MORE BOXES)

#3 - be forced to decide between lowend extension, or overall output. I need to sell a pair of subs...

#4 - be satisfied, cause this is turning into way more of a project than i inteded, or

could ever have imagined before i initially installed my system in April.......

#5 - clean up my ugly *** wiring

what would you say this is? 40-55 hz?
no, it'll play all the way down to 25hz, but not with anywhere near the same intensity as the type-x's.

i'd say 35-60, put then it just hits a WALL, it may even be elecrtonically crossed over, cause it goes 0 output around there

ok, whipped out the test tones today, and got busy.

peak output of the box is from 30-55hz, and 55hz is where the hatch starts vibrating like crazy.

and my kenwood head unit's xover only goes in increments of 10hz on the subwoofer channel, so i'm forced to choose between a 50hz 18db slope, a 50hz 12db slope, or a 60hz 24db slope....

for now i've been using a 50hz 12db slope, and it increased output tremendously, having the x-over set @ 80hz was causing a lot of loss in the lower peak frequencies, now it's a LOT louder, and doesn't rattle.

Only problem now, is that with such a low crossover setting, some basslines sound weird, because certain notes are just plain missing, but my lows are way way way way louder than they were before, with either the type-x or the l7.

The l7's still don't extend below the 30hz mark as well as the type-x's did, but i think i can live with that, i just wasn't hitting the 30-40 range like i was with the x's with the xover set at 80.

Very content now, although with the increased output, i'm also experience a big drop in sq, the louder the l7's get, they lose a LOT of sq compared to the x's, and it's soooooo weird to see that the l7's barely move while they're creating all that racket, even long low notes, they only seem to move a few mm in either direction, very crazy looking.

Very nice. I like how you know what your talking about. Can't wait till the morning when I get to install my new box for my SPL160 and get to play with the test tones.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well, 'peak' output was to my ears, not on a mic

and i just stumbled across the fact that trying to play freq's higher than 60hz or so was greatly reducing my output, i didn't know that's why i couldn't get loud down low, so it just goes to show that pushing random buttons for long enough DOES yeild results //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
