HO Alts

OK. First, Whats a good company to get HO alts for cheap. Second, How many amp alt for ~3k RMS? Also, 2 batteries in the back for the audio enough? Maybe even upgrade the current batt in the front.

What do you think?

first you don't need 2 batteries in the back. just get one big yellowtop or something. i would do probably no less then a 250 amp from http://www.mean-green.com or http://www.excessiveamperage.com. also i think excessive is having a group buy soon. my 250 amp from the last group buy was $308 shipped.

you don't need one, but it will help stabilize voltage. just make sure you have enough alt to charge 2 batteries and run 3000 watts

k another question. if i do put a batt in the trunk. does it need to sit on anything special or can i just leave it on the carpet? assuming its a yellow top optima.

you want to mount it down instead of just sitting it in there and hope it doesn't slide around. make sure you get a deep cycle (yellowtop) that's sealed so you don't have acid everywhere. a yellowtop can be placed anywhere, just make sure its secure

k thank you. 1 more question lol. is 34/78 the size i want? how do i know which numbers to choose? im assuming d34/78 but i have not a clue.

if you buy from a local place. be sure it is the 750 cca version. some of them have 650. there is a model year differentiation. i thinkit is a -950 is the newer one. Just look before you buy. I have the 34/78 under the hood.
