wiring 5 gauge with some 4 gauge

ok heres what i did, i ran from the battery to the back seat with 5 gauge, then from there i used a distro block just go run 4 gauge to the trunk, i ran out of 5 gauge, so i used a distro block for 4 guage into 2 8s, what i did was take the 5 gauge split it in 2 into each 8 gauge out then into the 4 gauge, its all a solid connectiong so it should still be a good run right?

so you have 5 gauge from batt to distro, which then goes into 2 8's, then which distro to a 4 gauge? sounds ephed to me. spend the extra money to get some longer wire. its like 20 bucks at wal mart for a install kit with 4 gauge

I couldnt understand half of that...

but aslong as your current draw doesnt exceed the rating for the least capable run of wire, then you're fine.
