HO Alternator

You're welcome.... keep reading up around here, there's alot of good information available... but your car among MANY MANY others out there like my van and my Jimmy have horrible factory grounds and the factory grounds use wire that is just way too small to keep up with the current draw that aftermarket stereo systems can do... The BIG 3 will help quite a bit with any voltage drop and light dimming problems you're having... the next step should be adding sound deadening to the car, it will amaze you how much better and louder your system can sound with just a little bit installed....

what kind of sound deading and stuff like that do you recommend? and how do you use it? where does it go? etc..

I used RaamMat in my van. I liked it alot and will using it again in my Jimmy. It can be had at www.Raamaudio.com. There's also Second Skin and the new stuff at www.sounddeadenershowdown.com while I've never personally used either of these products I wouldn't be affraid to, they're both widely used and highly recommended. The sounddeadener or mat goes on all the thin metal surfaces in your vehicle that the sound pressure from your subs tends to make rattle really bad, such as your trunk lid, walls and floor, doors, floor, roof etc.... Each of these manufacturers also has a kind of foam mat that you apply to help stop rattle and sound transfers that happen on the panels and plastic trim as well... there's alot of tutorials around that can explain to you the places to put it and what to look for when applying.... the internet is your friend, go and study.... start at sounddeadenershowdown, he has alot of good information and explains how the products do their job.....

i have an 80 amp fuse also in my fuse holder..would anyone suggest upgrading that or just keep what i have?
If you're not blowing it then I wouldn't do anything about it, it's not hurting anything right now.... the amp has internal fusing that adds up to 120A so if you do blow it you know you can change it up a bit higher.... you say you're loaded at 1 ohm but with impedance rise (not going into that right now but it exists in every system) you're not loading the amp hard enough to draw enough current to blow the 80A.... another reason you don't need a HO alternator...

I got my 2AWG from partsexpress but you can get 1/0 from Knu for the same price now.... as far as how much deadener.... you just need to decide what you're gonna deaden and buy enough to cover that area... do a little at a time til you're happy... read up some more, there's alot of info out there
