anybody ever had any expirence with one? do they overheat easily etc? i just want a cheap amp that will do the job for now. my friend has one and he loves it...i was personally thinking about getting a 1000 watt one. any answer will be appreciated

I saw a broken one on craigslist once. Unless I'm mistaken, I doubt they do rated, so your friend likely is not seeing 1000 watts.

i was hoping nothing more than $110. i just turned 16 and i wanted just a lil bump in my car...money is tight so i dont want an amp that is to expensive

your best bet is craigslist. alot of people new to car audio buy a blingy pyle(oshiz), or boss etc cause it says it does 4000 watts. but in reality it does 600. a good rule fo thumb is to look at the fuses built into the amp(sonicelectronixcom almost always shoes pictures of fuses on side). the calculation for watts is volts times amps. so if you have 60 amps worth of fufes on the amp, you would say 14voltX60amps=840 watts. so if the amp claims 1800 watts its lying. now this doesnt mean to say an amp does 840 watts cause of the amperage of the fuses, this is just a process of telling if an amp manufacturer is lying.

as far as a good amp for a low price, try planet audio. only buy big bang and big bang 2 series if its a newer model. you can get a bb2400.1 for 219 refurbished on ebay and it will do its rms(or pretty near it) and pay no attention max ratings. also the bb1400.1 sells new for 219 on ebay and will do its rms.

so your choices are crappy boss amp for 100$ that does 600 watts, or a "decent" planet audio amp for 219 that does about 2000 rms at 1 ohm.

spend your budget wisely and stay away from hitron... they are IC based not real amps and not even 50% of rated...

what power do you need at what ohm ect...

could get you into a 500rms crunch new for under 100..

could do a true 1000 rms @1ohm Hifonics for 140 new...

its best to spend the extra $50 and get quality rather than being out $100 because you spent it on a junk amp

its not bad to buy a smaller amp, like a quality 300watt rms kicker monoblock. but its bad to buy a way overrated amp for the price that you can buy a quality small amp.

best bet 4 u is to buy a used amp off ebay or Craigslist. and dont buy something new from an unauthorized dealer either as your new amp will not have a valid warranty.

well i was thinking about buying that kicker 300 watt rms monoblock amp off of ebay for $114 yet my kicker cvr has 400 watt rms.... and i was hoping nothing more than $110

i offered him 2 very good amps with a valid warranty in his budget range...... so your comment better not be as a slandering remark towards me or my validity without checking my feedback thread 1st...

then telling him to buy used on CL of all places is better than new ?

maybe if you could read you could see he listed his budget at 110...
