High quality tweeters

If a 6ohm tweeter is used on a crossover designed for a 4ohm tweeter, I believe the 6ohm tweeter would just be crossed-over at a lower frequency. If this lower frequency overlaps the frequency the mid is playing it could cause the frequencies in the overlap to sound harsh...no?

Also in that scenario it's possible that the 6ohm tweeter playing at a lower x-over point, may be playing too low and sounding harsh.

...Maybe that's what the OP meant.

Yep. Thats Why I said because im running them passive through x-overs. The Sc6500 set originally came with 4ohm tweeters but the guy i bought them from switched them out with 6 ohm morel tweeters that are now too harsh when used with the sc6500 xovers.

Changing to other tweeters is not guaranteed to solve this problem. The passives could be creating a big peak or dip in the response that is making the tweeters sound harsh. You would be guessing at a solution by trying other tweeters besides what Eclipse provided with that component set.

They didnt come with the original tweeters. But I found a thread from the original owner of the set saying that it was much more harsh with the morels than with the original eclipse tweeters, and they concluded it was because they were 6 ohm instead of 4.
