The 802 will drain pretty much all the batt/alt you throw at it, but is a dam strong and stable amp and a good budget amp for the wattage. I've never had a HK4000D that wasn't just a little finicky to low impedances, remote level input and 12v operation.

I would suggest a Goliath personally, but I'm biased, its the nicest amp I've ever had.

plus the 802 is stable at .5 and the 4000 is only stable at 2 ohms

goliath is regulated which is a decent thing to have with an amp that large for daily use. it is a little less likely to go bad/have bad things happen due to voltage/current issues and it makes its real power in the typical 13 v range rather than 16-17 v

I run the XX Colossus II and am very happy with it on my 06XXX12. Was benched at 33XX locally plenty pow for me.

yea im not going to run 16v in a daily vehicle ever, too much trouble

Which mag was this out of curiosity, "Car Audio and Electronics"? yeah CA&E. They said in order to get it's rated output they had to drive it into a little clipping. Not like clipping matters anyway when you're trying to be loud though.
