High pitched whining

I've got a very faint high pitch whining coming from the speakers. I hear on start up before the amp powers up and sometimes when the music dips low enough. I used a scorche loc and gounded it behind the dash in the radio cut out. The radio is also grounded here. It looked like a decent ground beause it's to a metal subframe. The amp is in the trunk and I grounded it to one of the large bolts that holds down the back of the rear seat. It also looked like a good grounding point. It is straight the chasis. Do these grounds seem ok? Also the power cable and remote wire for the amp are on the drivers side and the rca cables are on the passenger side. Thanks for any help.

did u sand the ground on both grounds. And alos i would recommend gettin an differnt line output converter. I just installed an tsumani loc and it had great output.

The gains were set at about 3/4. I may turn them down a bit. Yeah both ground connections were sanded. If I change the amp ground where is the best place to put it?

same place as the HU... rather, change the HU ground to the same place as the amp, just run a wire (same as the remote) and ground it at the amp point. that might solve the problem.

I regrounded the amp at the seatbelt anchor. I tried adjusting the gain but I even hear the whine with the gain turned down to half and then I have no volume. I may try to ground the radio with the amp and see what that does. Thanks for the help guys.

what kind of car is it? the sound is engine noise by the way it is alternator whine, and some cars just have whine with little you can do....turn the gain ALL the way down with your car on revv up the engine at what point can you hear the noise while turning the gain up? BTW the seat belt IS a good ground. my car is a nissan and has as good of components, wire and input boosters as you can find...guess what? it has very faint noise

Please explain the logic of a piece of metal attached to the frame through carpeting, plastic and paint to be a good grounding point. And also explain how you have to always live with noise in your system. As far as I know, any system that is done right will have no noise.

i meant under the belt bolt if you pull everything out of the way the seatbelt is possibly the best ground in the car but you cant do it on carpet dude you think i am a moron?

also i have a NISSAN they are notorious for noise every rf changer every amp install they **** for noise my gain is at 0 flat nothing on both my 10 VOLT line driver and 7 channel amp if you have a euro car, nissan or sometimes mitsu you are very likely to have noise...shit my car came with STOCK engine noise when you turn the AC on you get noise there is nothing i can do about that is there?

trust me i have worked with some of the top installers on the west coast and digging around we did the best we could, most people won't notice the noise in my car but if you listen very closely you can hear it on about volume level 5 and below (out of 35 i think)
