I'm getting an high pitched noise when my HU is turned on and even when the volume is down all the way. Noise goes away when I turn off the Hu. It seems to be coming from the tweeters but not sure. Anyway I'm not sure what it is or what to do.

Equip:

Hertz HSK 165 on a 100.2 sundown amp

Alpine 9887

it just started doing this and I had this stuff installed for 4 months now.. Which ground are we talking about? the one my highs are on?

It can be from anywhere. I need to know your system layout (electrical) to understand. Do you have amps? If so how many and how are they connected and grounded?

Also, getting RCA's near power can cause the loop as well. If your RCA's have moved around you may be picking it up through there.

You can hear ground loop easiest through tweeters but it is actually going through everything.

it was all installed in a shop so anyway I'm not sure where everything is grounded. Kinetik HC1800, Hertz HSK 165 on a 100.2 sundown amp, Alpine 9887, pair of DD1508 on a AQ 2200D amp. No other electrical upgrades just the battery.

Well it wouldn't hurt to learn your system layout but you could always take it to the shop and have them figure it for you as well.

My vote is to turn the system down so you can just hear the feedback and move the rca's around (try moving them away from power) and if that doesn't work remove the ground from the sundown clean the contacts and file down the contact point.

Well I went to do what you said but nothing changes when I move my wires around. But with the car on acc the noise seem to be gone. Well I'm just going to take it back to the shop let them look at it.

In most situations, you should only hear the noise when the engine is running.
