high pitched noise from sub..

Ok I got a Kicker Solobaric S10L5 which is only putting out 350rms instead of 450rms because my amp only puts out 350rms. It sounds good but on alot of songs I hear the bass and a high-pitched squeeking sound, only when i turn it up pretty loud. I took the sub out of the box and turned it up a bit and I heard the slight squeeking noise, so i know its the sub and not the box or anything. Does anyone know what this sound could be, i dont think my sub is blown beacuse it still hits pretty hard but its just it squeeks so much, do you think I should take it into an audio shop or something so they can look at it or something? I tried to look for screws to take the back apart but i couldnt see any.

okay, well its a couple years old, at first it sounded fine then latley theres a highpitched squeeking noise when its turned up loud i dont know how i can describe it anymore, there is still bass, but a squeek as well. could it be because the amp is only putting out 350rms instead of 450rms which the sub asks for?

how did you run your rcas? are they near the power? what about grounds? are they secure? i have a horrible vibration noise from my L7.

hm I never thought about that, but it seems like when I took the sub out of the box and played it a bit it was still there, it sounds like something is loose inside the sub itself if that makes sence.

have you tested to push the done in and out with your fingers?

if the voicecoil is ok, it might be the glue holding the coil and cone together that is coming loose....

that alone can make those squeaking high pitched noises.

I had an old orion hcca sub that made such sounds and it was the cone had come loose from the glue about 1/3 of it. and that caused the cone to rub against the aluminum former....

or amp, RCA,etc...it's reproducing the sound that is given to it, odd, it's a high pitched wine...

Okay, well if the glue is infact coming loose, how much do you think that would cost to fix, or could I do it or is there a special glue to use? I dont have warrenty on the sub so I would have to get some shop to fix it.
