High pass filter setting?

Shouldn't need to touch it since the comps have a passive xover, but you "could" try setting it around 100Hz or so as the mids might take more power that way. You will lose some low end output though, since you're filtering those frequencies out.

Do you have a subwoofer? If not, run the comps full range. If you do have a subwoofer, you can set the high-pass for the comps to the same frequency you have for the low-pass for the subwoofer. e.g. If you have the sub low-passed at 80 Hz, then high-pass the comps at 80 Hz.

K, thanks. The speakers and amp got here today and are to sexy, but the speaker box says 5w minimum rms and 120peak, is that 120rms? Cause im not sure how much power to feed these guys. It says it like this "5w minumum RMS/120peak"

Set the amp xover to FULL, so the xover with the comps does the filtering. But you could always play around with xover settings in the amp and your HU if it has them. Tuning/tweaking is the name of the game to get the best sound out of what you have...

You want to high pass the component set as low as you can.

A few things to note. The lower the crossover point, the less power handling the speakers will have. The higher the crossover point, the less midbass output you'll have. You need to find the happy medium.

It really comes down to, first, how you have your doors treated. If you have them deadened and sealed, you may be able to the 80-100 hz range. If you haven't done anything to the doors, then plan on about 120-150 hz. Either way, set your gains correctly then play with the crossover point till you find that happy medium I was talking about.

The passive crossover will not high pass your mid. It will only high pass the tweeter and low pass the mid at whatever crossover point it's designed for. It's probably somewhere in the 3500-4000 hz range.
