Have a Kenwood 7201 800W 2-channel amp with 4- or 8-gauge power wire (calls for at least 10-gauge). With speaker wires disconnected, head unit at about 60% (and bass +/-0), amp gain turned all the way down and 50 Hz test tone (LPF set to 60 Hz) I get output V at speaker terminals about 40V. This is real high, I'm looking to set the gain to 20V (1 sub per channel @ 200W x 2 ohms). Could this amp be damaged at all? It plays decently (8" sub in each channel) but sounds like gain could be turned up some but Voltage has me at a loss. Maybe I should test a different RCA cable. I've had this amp for a couple years and I was just checking all of my settings when I noticed this. It's always played well for me.
