high miles

I know buying a car with high miles isn't always good. But I found a 2000 ford explorer sport for 1995... it has 188k miles though and he says a bad coil which can be replaced for 75 bucks... but the body is fantastic not a single dent or anything and the interior is good except torn leather on middle console... aka hand rest.. Which can be replaced for cheap... but like I said it has high miles but does that matter if its well taken care of? Remeber having a 91 honda and it went well over 275k.. What do u guys think

well its not a honda lol. check it out in person have some one that knows there stuff go with you and see what up with it.. and it comes down to what u think..

comparing a honda to a ford is like comparing apples to oranges. If u plan on putting money into it....buy it. But i don't recommend buying something w/ that high of miles....especially if it's a DD.

A lot has to due with how well he or other owners have taken car of it.

I would offer him 1500 and see if he takes it.

My wifes car is at 180k and have to do some expensive stuff to it, but still running. I imagine at sometime he has dumped some money into it. I would have someone you know who is good with rides, check it out real good.

Yeah I been thinking about it for over a week.. I really didn't wanna pay for a truck with that many miles on it for 2k.. I was seeing what some of you thought... and he didn't replace the coil because its a guy selling it at his car lot he's a dealer... but yeah im sure I can find a way better deal
