Depends on the engine, the 4.0 in those go for ever. the 3.X die quick.

is it the OHV V6? or the SOHC V6? The OHV tend to die quicker than the SOHC because of all of the extra moving parts but for the most part the explorer's will hold up for a long *** time except for the transmission.

Only real reason i was thinking about getting it.. is because it looked so good.. i know 188k is alot miles... but has new tires and the body looks almost perfect.. but then again its from a dealer and they try their best to make it look good

I would never buy a car with that many miles on it unless I was planning on swapping out the guts (engine,******, etc) and building a project car. You could trust a full size Ford truck to go over 200k or 250k if it was taken care of, but any other Ford with that many miles should be avoided like the plague

Maybe I've been lucky, but my car has 225,000 miles on it and still runs great

here's the thing yes the truck is clean but what happens when you are broke down on the side of the road. Man he should fix whats wrong with the truck. What they like to do is say yes its has this many miles and they dont wana say its 100% so they say it has this LITTLE ISSUE. And what do u do u say ok i can get that fixed and then when something eles goes they say it has x amount of miles etc... I WOULD PASS BRO..

i can almost guarantee some of those panels and paint have at some point in time been replaced/repaired.

screw the engine the ****** will go before that if it hasn't already been replaced
