High excursion grills...

For those of you that have a sub which has longer excursion than the pe bar grills, what do you do to protect your sub? What kind of grill do you for say something that has 2" one way excursion or just doesn't work with the pe grill?

Maybe make an MDF spacer so the grills are farther up from the sub?

The PE grills look pretty large so i cant imagine any real problems from them.

Do you have a link to them.

The PE grill only has .80 or so inches. The other optin is an mdf ring outside.

or build a double baffle.. & sink your sub, instead of putting it on top of tha 2nd baffle.

i think that looks cool & may help.

Another question if I throw a 12v battery on the terminals, will the sub extend to its fully excurred postion?

Depends on what sub and what batt.

PE sub grills didnt work at all for my Type-R's, the diameter of where the grills mount hit the outter surround (i think thats what you call it, the outer rubber ring). they needed to have about another 1/4" in diameter to fit.
