i installed my motor city reman h/o alt today and upgraded the main cable to 0 gauge, everything looks fine

when the engine is running especially at low rpms the alternator whines like crazy, and will not at higher speeds. What could be a reason for this'? theres no rubbing, the alt spins fine when the belts not attached, and the belt itself is fine also. im stumped?

shitty, i do get a little vibration too..lifetime warranty is on the unit so what do u think send it back? or pop a new bearing in myself?

yeah man, I would send it back. Putting a new bearing in is a pretty decently sized job. Not somthing you wanna fcuk up if you try to do it yourself either.

yea what a pain in my ass, did figure out how much power i freed up just by upgrading my alt to battery cable though, since i got the stocker back in now. im getting constant 13.8-14.4

itll be goin back soon, looks like that lifetime warranty is really helpin already lol

Theyre pretty good on returns and what not..I had a 165amp from them had for a few months and finaly started doing the same thing..sent it in 2 weeks later got it back, but i havent put it back in,think gonna just use it as a back up*I had another 180 alt*

16.6 is way too high. That will destroy an AGM battery. What alternator brand did you use? Sounds like a voltage regulator issue. Are you...

Maybe/maybe not. First it's just a guess, but components can change value with temps and this could be normal. Could also be a sign of a cap on...

You are clipping at the HU, and as stated.. will eventually damage the HU if continued. sounds like you need a little more power as stated. A 2 ch...
