If they are not cea rated, then how good are they? I want an amp that does 1500 rms at 1 ohm but the hifonics amps are said to be overrated so im not sure if i should trust them. Right now i have a kenwood that is cea rated at 900 rms at 1 ohm and i plan on selling it to someone with a smaller setup so i need to know if i should buy the hifonics or just to keep my kenwood? Can anyone help who maybe has had experience with em? Again, the kenwood is 900 rms and the hifonics is 1600 rms. Which is the better amp?

I guess your looking at the 1606 D? If so it will put out more than the Kenwood at 1 ohm, but it probably will not do rated power.
yeah, its a BXI1606d. I just hope everyone here agrees that the hifonics is better. I need to get rid of the kenwood before i burn my car down!!!! It gets hot and i need to give the aaarrrrhhhhsss some more power.

Decent amp for price, much better then that Kenwood. But it is a bit over rated as most hifonics amps are with the exception of the XX and XXV series those do rated and better.

Call me stupid... but Im a firm believer hifonics will do rated or maybe SLIGHTLY less than rated @ 14.4.

So keep that in mind.

For the exact reason.... they are cheap in cost... means a lot of people grab the amp for the low costs.. but dont put the proper work into their electrical..

Dropping to 11.5, yeah.. the amp will not put out rated.

I think thats the biggest reason people think they are overrated...

Just do your research.

Cool, i will get it. Thankyou guys.
i assume your going to power your types Rs with the new amp? let me know if they get allot louder with the hifonics becuase i have that same kenwood on a pair of CVRs so id like to know if its worth the change from these to CVrs i already bought the type Rs just not an amp yet and am looking at that same hifonics amp.
