Hifonics ****ing Sucks

You're an idiot. I wasn't the one that said it peaked at 1/4. And second I'm not a n00bx I've just never used the hifonics remote BASS BOOST KNOB. NOT remote gain! Read the fucking thread. What's with half the ******s on this site trying to act intelligent and spout off the first thing that comes to there minds that has nothing to do with the fucking problem.

Wow you ARE so smart. Give me a fucking break, You idiot.

Haha! Are you kidding me? You blew the sub and you're calling him an idiot when he tries to educate your dumb ***? Quit snapping at people that are trying to help. If you're going to get all defensive, don't post. You ****ed the sub, and now you either pay for a recone, or buy a new sub. End of story.

ROTFLMAO
You're the one who blew your speaker not knowing how this works. It doenst matter what they lable it as, that is how it works. I wasnt saying you where the one who set it at 1/4, you need to tak a chill pill.

Some people (obviously you) dont know how or why things work and when you arent 10% smarter than the equiptment you are working with shit happens. Geuss what, shit happened.
wait what? I realize I made a mistake. I'm not complaining about hifonics, Well I was at first because I was mad, But did you not just say it wasn't a bass boost knob...Because, It is... It boosts 0 - 18db at 45 hz...

Ummm.... no

I was talking about if used th way it should be used. It turns down voltage (volume) if +18dB is set at the amps maximum output. If you set it up the way i stated it works like a volume controll for the amp.

The "Bass Equalization" Maxxsonics talks about is on the amp. The bass knob is a "Remote Bass Controll"

meaning that it remotely controlls output of the amp...not a boost, it isnt inteded as a boost, it is intended as a way to controll the amp with out mesign with gain settings.

I just received my BX1205D yesterday. This amp is tits for a budget amp (paid 220 shipped brand new). If you use the remote knob, the amp will run at what the knob is set at. Unplug the knob and it goes to settings on the amp. As far as I know, this is common sense. What the hell did you think would happen. I don't mean that trying to be a dick, but I am a noobx and new that.

i have a BX1205D, its a great amp, especially for the price i paied (218 after shipping) I have a DEI 1100D that i am waiting on an RMA number so i can return it and get a new one. We'll see which is more stout....though for the money the 1100 could preform half as well and still be worth it.

you sure it's your voice coils? What's the sound like, i had similar problems with my 9500, just the spider ripped off the basket. I used CA model glue, 2 months later, again off, after the third time I bought a line driver to completely rid distortion and never use bass boost, my system is a lot louder, and my subwoofer doesn't take as much stress. Just check everything to see if it's in place. You mentioned your sub made a noise at low volume, mine did the same, just a god aweful slapping sound, but when i cranked it for a min, the slapping got real f-ing loud. Just thought I may help. BTW, sorry about your loss, if you're looking to pick up another 18" I have an 18XXX i'm selling for pretty cheap. You could always sell your parts.... and then buy my 18XXX of course, lol. Then you wouldn't worry about 1500 watts blowing it.

PM me price please. Also, I could have deff looked into what that "remote bass boost" or so I thought did. I guess imma sell the sub or recone it I'm still on the fence. I just love how my setup looks right now and dont wanna see it go. Ill get pics up soon. CBfry.. You're right and I'm an idiot. lol i can admit it im not a douche, i just was pissed. And i offiaically hate that friend that convinced me to use the **** thing in the first place.

EDIT: *love* also is 150+ shippng a good price to sell the SX?

Thank you, exactly. Its not a bass boost knob... whoever says it is doesn't know what they are talking about. I happen to own a BX1000D and have extensive experience with it. Sorry tommyk, its a remote gain knob. The fact that he blew his sub with it has nothing to do with the knob, it has to do with how he set his gain or pre-existing problems with the driver.

Remote gain is even better. **** I wish I knew. I might end up using it after all. lol

The last amp I had with the "knob" seemed like a bass boost. The Hifonics seems more like a "gain". The adjustment is alot finer on the Hifonics. I am seriously thinking of going full Hifonics amp setup in my Tahoe.

Hifonics is stepping up quality comapred to similar priced amps wit hsame rated output. My hat is off to Maxxsonics, it even irritates me when people bash the old BX1500's for only puttind down 900-1000w or so. For the price (less than $200) you simply CANNOT beat the watts per dollar.
