rl-p vs idmax

If you are gonna get the IDmax it would do better with more wattage. The RL-p would work great with 600. But if your gonna upgrade the amp and price is no issue.... I say the Idmax

not really. im willing to pay for either one, but these are the only two im really considering. Ive owned and idmax before and loved it but it got damaged. I just would like to know how the rl-p compares

It's really going to come down to pure personal preference. Both have the same output capabilities, and both are capable of sounding excellent.

If you want to play it cautious, since you had an IDMax I'd say go ID again. If you want to experiment with other comparable drivers, go with the Rl-p. You definitely won't be unhappy with it.

didn't i sell you my two broken idmax 12s a while back squeak? If it was you did you ever end up getting them fixed?

Haha..yeah, it was me. And no, I never fixed them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif One of them I sold to someone who did indeed fix them, and the other as far as I know is still floating around here unfixed.

These were the same 2 drivers I was considering getting when I bought my RL-p. Both will run great off of 600 watts. IDMaxs dont really like much more than 800, a rl-p can take a little more.

The biggest factor for me was ID dosnt make a 15" IDMAX. If they did there is a good chance that would have been in my car.

Let me say that I'm glad they didnt make a 15" because I might not have tried the RL-p out, which is by far my favorite woofer I have ever used!

RL-p will be cheaper but if you wait a while you will definitly see both of them pop up in the used sections.

when i had those idmaxes i only had them running off of 600 a piece and theyn seemed to be reaching full excursion. and squeak id probably go with a semi-large sealed for the rl-p and a medium sized ported for the idmax if that helps any

For the Rl-p 1.00-1.5cuft sealed seems to be the ticket.

I have mine in 1.25cuft sealed with 700w RMS and really enjoy it. Gets low and gets loud while sounding very, very nice.
