Hifonics ****ing Sucks

I used a BX1000d and a BX1500d before. Both worked great. Excepth the bass boost knob on my 1000d was messed up. It went full boost @ 1/4 turn lol.

Does sound like user error. Hifonics can be a decent budget amp. If used properly.

Well it figures, I threw away the amp manual yesterday cleaning my room. But does anyone know how to properly adjust it then? I turned the bass boost on the amp all the way down but I kept the gain the same becauise it was a good setting for my other sub. I don't understand where it was my fualt, unless, I was for some reason supposed to turn down the gain before plugging it in.

EDIT: There is NOTHIN wrong with the fuking amp people. I love it, Till I used the REMOTE bass boost. It's still fine it's just my sub that shit the bed.

yup thats y //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
lol fuk. I would have never of used the **** thing either if my fuking friend didnt think it was "Cool". I NEVER run bass boost. Well it's in the past, Soo how much for a recone?

EDIT: On the subject of this... My subwoofer makes that wierd sound like its blown, But when I turn it up it makes bass instead of that noise it just sounds alil off. I've never heard a sub do this before. It's almost like it's halfblown.. Any ideas?

before we even played anymusic my gay friend said lets put that gay remote bass boost controller on
Wow, thats a lot of Gayness.... With that level, it should almost be spelled Ghey...

sounds like good speaker bass,
I hate it when I don't get good speaker bass.... Just messin with you on the above...

On the HiFonics Sucks... I currenly own like 8 of'em and have owned Several more... Never had an issue with any of them... Alway worked as well or better than other (decent named) amps I've owned..

Lastly, Sorry to hear you blew your SX that does ****.... Good money down the tube...

I just don't see how you could have blown your sub...

To blow a sub, you'd have to be playing the ish outta it and driving it to hard, or somehow having it adjusted to play a ton of distortion...

Either way, I'd think you'd go, man that sounds like @ss and re-adjust it or make changes, vs. keep playing it like that....

re-cone the sub, BUT WALL IT FIRST!!!!!. I don't think RE recones are THAT bad. not like DD anyway. you do have to cough up shipping both ways and somewhere in the $75 dollar range for the parts....best be callin' em.

K&B will get your money for the amp repair, I imagine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Sounds like ur the dumbass not Hifonics

Couldnt have said it better myself...

a "bass knob" is not a bass boost knob.

Bass boost takes one frequincy that is common to music and about centered in the subs frequincy range (usualyl around 45Hz) and boosts it with a certian slope on both sides.

Bass Knobs simply turn down rail voltage on the amp, just like a gain. To properly set a bass knob you first set the gain with no knob plugged in and then plug the knob in with the knob turned all the way up. This now means that when you turn it down it turns the rail voltage down and when you turn it up you never go past the original gain setting.

If your knob reaches maximum at 1/4 this means that when you plugged the knob in the knob was at 1/4. They arent complicated devices, dont blam Maxxsonics. Hifonics makes great amps for the money, the same exact thing would have happened wether it be JL or Cadence or RE or Incriminator.

just another n00Bx in n00Bx land bashing a prodouct w/o proper knowledge. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

You're an idiot. I wasn't the one that said it peaked at 1/4. And second I'm not a n00bx I've just never used the hifonics remote BASS BOOST KNOB. NOT remote gain! Read the fucking thread. What's with half the ******s on this site trying to act intelligent and spout off the first thing that comes to there minds that has nothing to do with the fucking problem.

Wow you ARE so smart. Give me a fucking break, You idiot.

I think I'm going to let my sub catch fire, Just because I'm pissed. The dustcap gets hot with the gain only at halfway....

ROTFLMAO

You're the one who blew your speaker not knowing how this works. It doenst matter what they lable it as, that is how it works. I wasnt saying you where the one who set it at 1/4, you need to tak a chill pill.

Some people (obviously you) dont know how or why things work and when you arent 10% smarter than the equiptment you are working with shit happens. Geuss what, shit happened.
