I found it rather funny that since hifonics new line is cea certified and their now putting out what they say they're putting out the prices have jumped. Im curious to see what this does for the brand name because the price hike puts it against higher quality brands. The name was good for power at a very low cost and if it only lasted a few years no biggie just go get another one I just hope the quality is raised along with the prices. Dont get me wrong ive been a longtime user of hifonics it was good for what it was supposed to be but time will tell. Unfortunately maxxsonics has discontinued the dsc2000

dont understand why they got rid of the dsc 2000 it was the best 2k amp they ever had and it did the 2k it was supposed to do unlike the 1700 rms

Hifonics Brutus BXI2010D

**** that sucks because i been looking to buy a dsc2001.d online but cant find one

The prices are higher because their no longer have the XXV lines, and of course their new. They have just three lines now the BRZ, HI-FI- and the Zxi and i still think that their prices is still competitive with other brands. Until someone buys one, test it, and post info and pics online i guess we'll never know how they perform.

Thank you for all of the comments regarding the new products and of course there is always a little speculation regarding a manufacturers decision to make changes so I thought I should help explain.

1. CEA2006 has nothing to do with higher prices.

2. New design with vertical heat sink cooling fins and better power supply does but it also allows the amp to run cooler, more efficient and will allow us to add bigger power models in the line such as the new BRZ3000.1D-Pro which is 3000 watts RMS and perhaps even bigger power models to come (the old design was maxxed out for heat dissapation capabilities).

3. The new HFi amps are more like old BXi models (if you are just looking for watts per dollar) and the HFi are available in A/B Class 2, 4, 5 channel and a huge line of D-lass mono amps.

4. The DSC amps are being replaced by the new ONYX amps which offer more models and the same performance. Many think the new cosmetics are a big improvement.

5. The new ZXi amps have the same cosmetic enhancements as the new BRZ and offer a huge line of full range amps including the new ZXi60.4/1k wich is a 5 channel amp with a 1000 watt D-Class mono on the back end. Again, the new design allows higher power points then the previous design.

We never make changes just to change. We are always working on improving the performance and reliability of our products and we listen to the requests of our customers in determining many of the changes.

I'm on this forum every day to not only answer questions when I can but to listen to what you have to say about our products.

I bring these requests and comments (good and bad) into product development meeting every week and we take your input very seriously.

As our customers, we truly pay attention to every thing you have to say and do our best to respond.

It's unfortunate that more manufacturers aren't here and make changes based on there customers requests but that is good for us I guess.

Any and all suggestions or comments about the new models is always appreciated and respected.
