Well people recomend like 3000 wats daily for the DD 9515, so 1600 wats is probably a little low (and the brutus series i hear is over rated)

Also, i just noticed that the opti2200 i linked is 2200 wats max, which is sumb, because amps dont have a max. Its only 1100 wats rms. So if any one wants to link another amp in that price range that is good, go ahead.

 
doubling your amplifier power will yield 3dB if the driver has the thermal capabilities for it.

10dB is a doubling of volume to to the human ear, it doesnt seem worth it to me to put such a strain on your wallet (for the electrical system) and your electrical system but if you need that 3dB and have the funds than all the more power to ya!
