ok, i was at one of the local stereo shops, and they had the bxi1206d hifonics amp for sale. sticker on it was 395.00. They do not offer a warranty. ONLY if THEY install the amp, and charge another 20 bucks do they offer a warranty. This amp is last years model, and from wat I see this amp is not refurb, and has not been used.

Is this price for that amp not a little steep?

to me it seems like. maybe it is or maybe its not, let me know.

lol well tell yourself is it steep to buy an amp rated at 14.4 for 1200rms that puts out maybe 900

Well yes it most definitely is over-priced.

I bought my BX1500d for around $230.00 brand new off of ebay.

but i have been thinking about getting a brutus series amp and i just dont wanna pay more than I should..but ya i guess..

tell that shop to fvck off. theres soo many better amps for that same price. you came to the right place. buy and install your own stuff. every shop is out to get you. for all you installers working for HIFI BUYS, BEST BUYS, CIRCUIT CITY, or anyother shop out there that marks up their merchandise 100% on here... FVCK YOU!!!

woohoo...finally someone who sees stuff from my point of view. Right now im still waiting to here if my subs and box are on their way. If they aint im getting my money back and im going to get me 2 btl 12's or maybe 2 tc3000. not sure yet tho..

right now I have a spl 1440 comp V series amp running two 12" audiobahn excursion series subs off of it. Sounds good, but im wanting something louder.

Buy from and authorized dealer and get a much better warranty and A-stock item.

Buy from ebay and get a B-stock item with a not-so hot warranty.

So why all of you aresaying "**** shops" I don't understand. Those guys need to make a profit and I'm sure as hell that they're not rich from owning a little car audio shop.

everybody listen... don't buy or get anything installed at shops. you wanna learn how to install your own gear ask questions here. to me, if you go to shops your totally green in car audio. also, don't go to car audio schools- a total waste of time and money!

remember the mb quart qsd216 comps? i recall hifi buys selling those comps for $999.99 for years. they didn't drop their price until rumor spread that mb quart was getting bought out. i recall those same comps going for $525.00 on woofersect.com. that's a huge price difference.

not rich? o.k. explain the $62,000 HUMMER H2(demo/show car) with a $30,000 system to match. all "little car audio shops" have a demo/show car and/or boat fronten out in the parking lot to pull in buisness. i hate all them little fvcks. their liars and cheaters. fvck warranties and fvck you to all who support them

honestly supporting local shops can be a good thing. not everything is bad about local buying, just find non shady shops

why assume hes never messed with anything else? hell id buy a cheaper priced hifonics for my fathers build. We are far from broke but i dont see a reason to spend 500-700 bucks on an amp for my father who feels the need for some sound but not spend the money
