hey guys... newb here.
i just bought 2 x 10" idmax v.3 d-2's (dual 2 ohm voice coils) and the amp i plan to run is a new orion xtr-1400 that's been sitting around for a few years. i have never run this amp, but the specs online say it's a 4ohm amp, even when bridged. however, the car stereo shop guy said in order to run it at the max power of 1400 watts, i need to run it at 2ohms and that's why i picked up the d-2's instead of the d-4's (dual 4 ohm vc's).
who has experience w/ this amp? i can't find the specs online anywhere so i'm pretty confused. was the stereo shop employee correct? can i run this amp at 2 ohms without incident? i'm worried that this amp is not supposed to be run at 2 ohms and i don't want to fry it.
thanks in advance
