Hifonics Amp in protect

Yea, i have a hifonics bxi2000d and when i plug it in and everything the power light will come on for a second or two then it turns to protect. Hmm? Anybody got anything?

Funny thing is I just posted the same issue with a kenwood amp for a friend of mine,but as soon as it hits protect the amp completely turns off.

ah well mines turns to protect, but it stays on...amps are the 8th wonder of the world

may be the driver board has it had any bad vibration like being mounted to the sub box?

I dont think it has, i never really used it on anything big. I dont think it was ever mounted either

so it sat loose? that could be a big issue right there lol

yeah it was kinda loose, it was sittin up against the wall of my trunk and the back seat

The amplifier has short circuit protection.

When you turn the amp on and it detects a short, it will immediately go into protection.

Disconnect the speakers wires and then turn it on.

If the protect light does not come one, you have a short in the speakers leads or a short in the sub.

If it still goes into protect, call Maxxsonics tech support for more suggestions and trouble shooting.
