Hifonics 1206D or 1606D At 2-Ohms For Powering 1 12" Alpine Type-R?

You're forgetting impedance rise. Account for that and you might be getting around ~550-600 watts. I'd get the 1606, no question at all. Don't think anymore, just get the 1606 and be done with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok, Im sold. Ill just get the 1606D, final answer. About how much watts RMS would I be getting if I wired it to 2-ohms?

boards are different so im not sure how close they are to eachother in actual rms. they are rated the same. dmm measure your voltage playing a 50hz tone

Sqrt(Power*Resistance) = AC Voltage
Alright, but how do I find how many watts it's actually pushing?

Hey guys. I just bought an Hifonics BXi 1606D Mono Amplifier online, along with a Alpine Type-R 12" Subwoofer!! Im excited, and cant wait to get started on building my custom box, which will be tuned at 2.5cu.ft. with 32hz, which is what the majority of the car fellows here recommended.

I just want to thank you very much on all your opinions and wish me luck. Of course, Ill come back with more questions, like most people do, lol.

If someone can answer me that one question, about if Im powering the 1606D at 2-ohms (1,100 watts RMS), what will be the 'actual' amount of RMS wattage I'd be putting out after all the 'impediance rise', the 80-90% RMS loss, powered by a 90-amp alternator, with a 2.0 Head Unit voltage output, and with gains set by ear? (Dont know how to really use a DMM)

Thanks again.

Glad you choose that amp, if you ever get it bench test PLEASE post results(help next guy out)..............

Hey, I dont know exactly what to do or how to benchtest an amp/subwoofer. I dont even know how to use a DMM, so I think your asking the wrong guy, lol.
Bench testing is not done with DMM, I forget what the tool is called but it is not cheap. Thats why I said IF you get it tested, more than likely from local shop (should be less than $20) ..................

do us all a favor and get rid of your dual headunit.........you wont get much sq from those
Ouch. Thanks for the burn. But I wouldnt have bought it if I had known about this site. I want a different/better one for sure sometime, but I just cant afford it now since I got a new subwoofer and amplifier. I just couldnt live without my bass. lol.

But if someone could be so kind to answer my question from before? Thanks.
