yes, some are better than others. I have seen some as low as a few bucks and some rather expensive ones.

you answered your own question...it is called a line output converter (LOC) and they all do the same thing. Audibly you will hear no difference

i know they all do the same thing but not all of them are good there is alot of different company selling them
