im not sure about the subs. they are well built and have some nice features.

other models of subs perform very well so i imagine they are worth it to

I haven't been real impressed with any of the hertz subwoofers so far , the amps/ componets are very nice ,even though I feel some models are a little overpriced, but for an SPL subwoofer you will probably get more bang for your buck with companys like DD, IA, DC, Atomic, RE,or even the Image Dynamics IDMAX.

I am fimiliar with the shop in Clarksville you are refering to , they are great fabricators/installers , but for SPL I would check around town, for another shop, that is geared more toward SPL monsters , (not SQ, and fab work)

IDMAX Price $400-$500 yes it is one best controlled coned woofers i've heard, nice tight dry bass & yes this thing can go low really low in the right box.

Hertz Price $900 I have'nt played with this sub, but i have it & i was very impressed with SQL that sub put out, but for the heavy price tag i would look into ID,Morel,DD,RE,etc.....
