best spl subs

i am building a new system it is going into a 1941 gmc pannel delivery. i have two ho alts mounted and runing to different batteries. i also have plenty of amps and comps for this project i just dont have the subs i want yet i am thinking $2000 budget for subs. i have been watching craigslist for subs so that i can get the most bang for $2000 but i am not seeing much there were some fosgates 15" p1s a pair of fi btls 18 for $1500 but i am kind of thinking i would like 4 of whatever i get all the same ofcourse anybody have any ideas for $2000 ?

There is no best sub, most of it is the setup/ box. So if you build good you'll be loud.

I'm starting to wonder if this is a joke. For one, if you're going to do true SPL you would not be asking these kinds of questions on a noob forum. For two, Craigslist is full of stereo equipment for the average joe. For 3, if you already have dual alts you should be educated enough to know that your enclosure is more important than the subs. Most of the large SPL subs that are out there are within tenths of a dB of eachother, thus you need to tune your enclosure for those subs.

i dont know what other forums i should be at--- as for craigslist i am seeing a few good subs but thought maybe i was missing something. i do kind of agree that the enclosure is where its at for spl but i dont know a lot about car audio today its been ten years since i have bought anything as for the fi btls they were 18s and the guy had an amp to go with them but i allready have plenty of amps two of the big mtx units 8101ds or something like that i would have to look at them to see what they are for sure. but its all good man i was just wondering what subs are good today.
