Diamond Hex Components

Im new to the forum, completely dumbfounded at the amount of people loving the PG RSd's on this forum (never come across them).

The SAME capacitor in BOTH my crossovers blew, they controlled my tweets so im going to have to buy new components.

I did have DLS UP6 Components, looking to switch to a cliche pair of Infinity Perfect 6.5's or Diamond S600 HEX components which ive heard great things about.

Any opinions on the suggested/alternatives would be helpful, need these replaced quick, my 10W7 fused to the magnet, again so im running on JUST Diamond D3 coax's off of the H/U....

lol i hear ya on the rsd comment

but just because you blew the crossover doesnt mean you have to replace the speakers you have if you like them..

i know i was just using this as an excuse to switch things up, but where could i get crossovers? the tweets and mids are just fine!... are those generic ebay crossovers any good?

well if you're looking for an excuse to get new stuff then do it =)

you *could* use a generic crossover but since it isnt designed for your speakers.. its very likely (for a few reasons) they wont be a well designed match.. so you're choices IMO are either go active with what you got or buy new speakers...

i've never been personally impressed with infinitiy speakers.. and never had any expierence with the diamonds so i cant comment. but do some research before you settle for either of those...

I had HEX's.....Average at best - I did notice the dropped in price quite a bit (200.00Ebay)

which makes them more worth the money but I can think of alot better speakers I have owned since in the 200-300 range

Sorry for the noob qu but how do you mean active? Just wire them straight w/o a crossover? I have to admit I've been brainwashed by the g35 forums who swear by infinity for there 2ohm compatability, dls and diamond audio!... Haha until someone mentioned PG and this forum!

APART from the PG's what would you guys recommend as a replacement and I spentt

too much on the jl audio at the time and used an old kenwood KAC 7202 170W x 2, good for just juice for fine for sound quality?...

so I decided to just hardwire the tweeters to the amp using a 4.7f cap between and used the xovrs for the mids, turns out the tweeters were blown while I was testing them...

Just having bad luck with them, now the question is do I buy tweeters which come with the xovrs or buy new comps... Ps does anyone know if jl have solved their glue issues? My w7 is back in for the second time!

ouch man you're not supposed to hook the tweeters directly to the amp unless its properly crossed using an active crossover...

if you want - shoot me a pm - ill help you out
