sorry for my recent abundance of new threads, but im having a hard time deciding on what to get as my first system..

im leaning towards memphis pr's.. ive heard they are great subs for their price.. anyways heres a set i was gonna get

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=5180

comes with 2 memphis pr's and memphis pr 500w amp.. for $320

BUT

a single memphis pr 12= $73+$10 shipping=83x2=166 then i could get hifonics 1200W amp for $177 off ebay free shipping which brings me to $343... so im paying $23 more but i have a 1200w amp instead of the 500w..

wouldnt it be better to buy the pr's and hifonics amp seperately then?

what do you guys think?

edit: just found pr's on ebay for $75 each free shipping.. so now that makes the 2 options almost the exact same price

I haven't checked the links... but odds are that's a 1200w "Max" amp. Make sure it's RMS. Max doesn't mean anything.
says its a 1200w rms amp..

RMS Wattage: 1200

from the link..

but ya id rather get this amp incase i ever upgraded in the future i would have a more powerful amp.. and why not if im getting it for the same price right?

Yes, it is a 1200w RMS amp, but I wouldn't feed a pair of PRs that much power. They won't like it. I'd suggest going with one stout 15 and a matching amp on that budget.

I'd recommend an Audioque SD2.5 15

http://www.audioque.com/aq/SD2_Series.htm

$129 + $25 shipping

And a Cadence TXA-3002

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=382

$129 shipped

The Cadence is a bit too much power for the SD2, but set your gains conservatively, and it will work perfectly. Happy bumping //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Or heck, even check this out...
Cadence TXA-3004

http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=383

$129

It will do 300x1 + 75x2... use that to power the sub and some new front speakers.

These speakers seem to be all the rage now, and cost a measly $59 + ship.

How bout them apples? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
why cant i just turn the hifonics amp down so its not feeding that much power?
