Just ran into this new bit (new to me) something about strapping amps

From what I have read so far the amps should be the same and the amps

need to be built to actually do this but what I cant find is what would the output be?

Taking say 2 amps each putting 2000Watts out @4 ohms after being strapped

what is the output @4 ohms now? Also is the gain of the second amp controlled

via the master amp?

Why not just buy one amp that is bigger? A single 4000 - 5000 watt amp?

Amps need to be identical. If each amp puts out 1500@1ohm seperately, and you strap them, you get 3000@2ohms. Usually it is a master/slave setup, the master controls everything.

If you strap 2 amps at 4ohm, it just drops the ohm the amps are seeing to 2ohm

Whatever theyre rated at 2ohm is what they'll put out

And yes....gain is controlled by master amp

Unless your strapping them to one speaker why?I mean get two amps and run them seperate.Just my .02

Was just askin it was new tech (to me anyways) lol never heard of it

I have 4 subs wanted to stay away from multi amps going with a single box

wanted to ether go with one big amp or strap 2 together

trying to just have one gain so they all hit the same and at the same strength
