ok i have 2 XXX 18s and 2 BX1500D if i get a 200amp alternator will i still need to get batteries or what should i do what do i need to get thanx alot

the batteries would be a good idea, 2 yellow tops by optima should do the trick

before telling him to spend $350 on batteries and hardware...

are you planning to spend a lot of time listening to the system with the engine off or competing? i'd assume so with two 18's and 3kW, but hey, you never know...

go with the dual batteries and the HO alt, then...

two optima yellow tops, should run you around $160 apiece for them (depends on where you go, I bought mine at a local auto parts place).

You'll shouldn't need an isolator between them, as they're identical batteries, but you'll need 1/0 or 2awg cable to interconnect them, and properly-sized fuses. Wire them up in parallel to get 12V but with a higher Ah rating.

you will also need to upgrade the big three, which are the wires ground the alt, from the alt to the batt, and I forget the other. hahaha, but make all thos 1/0 gauge wiring( take into account fuses with everything as well)

the other one is the battery ground connection.

something a friend of mine neglected to the point where it was covered in corrosion, and wondered why his Jeep wouldn't start one afternoon...heh
