si, JL audio is a premium brand with a premium price...RE (xx) you will find if you spend some time on this forum is often compared to JL and often loved more, they offer superior spl and more than adequate SQ, that withstanding, to each his own when selecting subs, what you like isn't necassirly what I will

While I know you are looking for hard hitting, are you looking it for to sound loud too? Or just gut wrenching hard hitting bass, XXX is louder than a W7 typically and is meant for that, W7s are mainly meant to sound good with SPL( sound pressure level...loudness) as a by product, XXX excell at Spl and maintain very good Sq( sound quality)

Other things to take into account, with this much power a new electrical system will come into effect, also that is a lot of weight, may cut down in the m3's performance, keep looking on here and you will find out more,

thanks for all the help guys I will prob get 2 10" reaudio xxx's, now the question is what kind of amp do I need and how much will it cost for a custom box enclosure like i described in the first post? thanks alot

ummm... XXX is a SQ woofer than has SPL as a byproduct (same as W7)

I know, I never said they were solely an spl driver, all I said is that the excel at spl and maintain good sq, but most would agree that the w7 is more sq oriented in the sense that it is purchased for sq applications more so than a xxx

Go with the w6's instead of the w7's I think the 6's are better sq. Besides if you have a bmw and want to show it off, what are you gona want to see the re's or jl's I like both but I like to show of the jl's.

I looked on some of these forums and found alot of xx's and w7's compared but not to many of the w6's and from what I have found out( friend of mine is a manager at a installations unlimited in ny kicker and jl) the w7's are more spl but the w6's are more sq. on here I have read that the w6's will out do the xx's in sq but the xx's will get alittle bit louder. But I dont see many people that own the w6's on here some have the w7's but most are 10's. I just dont know how some people can compare a sub that they heard in a store to when you own it and hear it everyday, or have owned them.but then again the cost u could get like 3-4 xx's for the cost of 2 jl's or 1 jl so thats another thing you need to think about.just dont screw your self and buy a cheap amp with good woofers. That would defeat the purpose. I have seen that done so many times. Same as dont go buy what you hear in a store. Huge diff in sound when its in your car.
