what amp is it ? You can first do a quick test ..
1: ..Turn system off ...
2: Unhook speakers ...
3: Turn system on ..
4: Check amp to see if protect light us still on ....
5: Turn system back off before rail voltage climbs from no speakers detected ....
6: If protect light was still on bad amp ....throw amp away .....if protect light was off a bad speaker .... find bad speaker and replace

Agreed with this here. Since you have the unit pulled out of the car/dash...test it at your car battery directly for operation. very simple to do...

This may be an option for you as well. Im sure Amazon has them on theyre site also to be purchased. Great amps...

Yeah, put the probes on the power wire and ground wire of the amplifier. Multimeter on DC. Do not put it on the wires that go to your speakers. M
