I have 2 fosgate prime 12' r2d2 500w speakers

I have them hooked to a 1000w pioneer bass boost amp

When I turn it up good it starts to clip and my amp gets super hot? What kind of amp do I need? Or do I need better amp wires? I'm new to all this so I'm confused. Someone help a guy out lol

Keep the bass boost off. You may need to turn the gain down. That means turn the knob to the left, toward the higher voltage.

What do you have the ohm load at?

^ that. You are either wired at .5, which a pioneer amp definately wont like. Or 2ohm, which probably all non mono pioneers amps will not like
