Do you got a warranty on the sub? Im not even real sure if you couldnt fix it yourself, i doubt it...but again im not sure.

you COULD still use the sub with the dustcap off, I guess. Still, better to send it in, get it repaired and send the bill to your friend. If he refuses to pay, step on his nuts and tell him not to bother sending you the medical bill.

Its a crappy sub i got for $10. I might just make my own.

It was really thin plastic.

you could get a replacement from the sub mftr, or you could get a similar one from a sub company, such as Destijl/RE, TC sounds, etc.

Easiest though, seeing that it was a $10 sub, I say duct tape.

if the sub was only 10 bucks make his *** pay for it and buy a new one
