Help!!!

Hi, My buddy has a rather anoying problem with his subs, he has 2 mtx blue thunder 12s, and a kenwood 600w amp, were running, the subs in parallel and bridged off the amp. THe prob is wen he opens the trunk the subs double in volume, and the instant he closes the trunk theyre right back down to half. Ive moved the ground around(bonding to bare metal each time) but to no avail. Its really friggin dumb, im hopin someone can gimme a hand here.

whats the specs on your stuff...and could you please explain alittle more, i don't understand what your talking about?

Umm ok, its more a problem of theory. The amp is outputtin 300w rms @ 2 ohms 600w max. and wat happens is wen ure listening to ure music, u pop the trunk the subs get twice as loud. the amp is a kenwood KAC-728s and the subs r MTX Legend series Blue thunder 12"s. In a dual chambered sealed enclosure. HTH

Face the box towards the rear of the car. You are getting cancelation. When you open the trunk, you let the waves that are causing the cancelation to escape.

Yea i was thinking what trixter was thinking. Try positioning them differently it sounds like the waves are cancelling each other out

That makes sense, cant beleive i didnt think of that. well ill have to move a ground again(hes really whiny bout water and holes) but hope that works. ill let u kno, and THX

Something elso to think about is some cars have a thick metal plate on the backside of the rear seat which makes it hard for sound waves to enter the vehicle. Thats why I wont buy a honda for a system.
