at 5:26 on the big 3 video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p82xR...eature=related

there is a wire there and the guy says now that the engine block ground is complete and secure now its time to install the battery..where did that wire come from? because i didnt see the guy put that wire in or explain anything about it during the video? is that only for if your replacing your stock car battery or what? i need some help on this because im doing it soon.

Please dont post any forums or anything on how to do the big 3. i just need to know where that came from..or whats up with that.

here is also what i have written down for the big 3 and make any adjustments if needed:

1. Alternator(+) to (+) Terminal on battery

2. Engine Block Ground(-) to (-) on battery(He didnt explain this!!)

3. Battery(-) to Chassis

Notes: remove factory connection(Alternator), attach 0 gauge wire to alternator(-), secure wire away from engine and radiator, attach wire from alternator to fuse block with out fuse in there. and then i drew a little diagram that basically says alternator(-)wire goes to one end on fuse block then you use a little bit more wire and connect that little bit to the other end of the fuse block and connect that to the (+) side of the battery. **the alternator charge wire should be fused within 12" of (+) battery terminal. Next: grounding to strut tower for the main batter. sand it down to bare metal. Prepare 0 guage ground wire with terminal and sand the terminal. make the connection.(attach the wire to ground and tighten it.

What am I missing?

dude stop posting a million ****ing threads!!!!! nobody is gonna help u if u do. just ask the question in a previous thread an if there arent replies after like a day or two then post a new one. but stop posting a million threads!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll just have to look under the hook of your car for a wire that's going from the eng block to your cassis or ground. Mine was really easy, but my stock setup already had a ground going to the engine block.

You might have to make your own, but chances are there is something there already. You're just going to have to look. If you can't find something, take a picture of what spot you might think is the best on your engine block and post it on here. That'll help us help you.

big 3 real simple, on the grounds look at the batt look for the - on the batt not the + follow the wire or wires from the - on batt and see where there go. its a chevy mostlikely the block is grounded. if you have a neg jump post under the hood that ground goes to the block. then one from ground on sturt and pos to alt the big wire on the back of the alt.

I tried that link, but the video doesn't work.

For the Big 3 you need to upgrade, add on to and not replace, the (+) on your alt to the (+) on your battery, the battery (-) to the frame, and the Engine block to the frame. Whether you fuse the wire from the alt to battery or not is up to you, I never bothered and most people don't, but some do.

you probley agree that fuseing the alt to batt wire would be useless. in my opion, if there is a short some where in the middle there would still be power on both ends. so to stop that you would need a fuse at both ends. then by adding 2 fuses wouldent that defet the prupuss of upgrading the power wire.?

my .02 cents

For a run of wire only a couple feet long it's almost pointless to run a single fuse, a double fuse would be totally pointless. The alt is generating current, but not storing it like a battery.
