on subwoofers is it nessasary to have a amp put out as many watts as the sub will handle? the thin pioneer subwoofer handles 350 rms and i want to get a 4-channel to just bridge 2 channels and have the other 2 power my speakers, but no amp that i have seen goes up to 350 rms even when bridged. and i am on a low budget, so im not going to go out and buy a 500 dollar amp. would it be fine to as low as 200 watts rms on this sub? isnt what blows the sub up is giving it too much power?

i'm sure you could find 350 rms for fairly cheap. either bad install or being an idiot with the gains will blow a sub, not the power you're running. subs do perform better when given the rms of the sub.

but i would have to go with a mono wouldnt i? im tryin to kill two birds with one stone by hookin up my speakers and sub to same amp so i dont have to have two. by the way, im not lookin to have the loudest system or anyting. plus i just have a single cab truck so im not sure if i need it to be extremely loud
