I recently bought some image dynamics chameleons and one of the mids just stopped working while I was at work last night. I took them out of the door and they look fine, I dunno what the problem could be. Before it stopped working it would occasionally slap when at high volumes, but the other would be fine. I am either going to send this one back in or buy a pair of the 2 ohm mids. Would it screw up the sound running these with the 4 ohm tweeters and the stock crossovers? I would like a tad more midbass but i dont want them to drown out the tweets

Grab a DMM, set it to read resistance and measure the voice coil of the speaker.

Anyways, I'm not sure if ID uses different crossovers for the different impedance mids. If they do, then you don't want to use the 2ohm mid with the 4ohm crossover.
