Help!!!

I have a ALPINE CDA-9833 in my 1996 Saturn. I bought it a year ago (the radio) and it has been working great. Then one day last week it just went dead. I thought it might be a fuse, But all of the fuses are O.K. I am getting power to the radio, but no sound or lights. I tried my old ALPINE and get the same result, so I don't think its the radio. I'm trying not to spend $60.00 an hour to take it somewhere. I hope someone has had this problem and knows a way to fix it. Thanks.

more info please. Are your speakers powered by the HU or by an external amplifier? what exactly "went dead".

try hitting the reset button if it has one

Its powered by a H.U. I have no power on the radio. Its like the power was shut off. I tried the reset button also.

How do you know you are getting power to the radio if there is no lights or anything on it? Does it turn on???? If it does, check your speaker wiring.

It doesn't turn on at all. No display, no sound, nada. Is there a fuse inside of the unit? If so, where? It was working fine, then nothing. I thought it was a fuse, but I pulled every fuse I could find and they are all good. Very frustrating!

You're at the point where you really need a multimeter to do any more troubleshooting. Do you have one?

I'm still betting on a bad fuse; they're not always easy to detect just by looking. Are any other vehicle components not working, such as cig lighter, dome lights or horn?

if u tried another alpine and it didn't work then i bet you have a fuse somewhere or just a bad wire... check both fuse boxes in the car... and check your ground as well... and make sure the harness didn't come unpinned... if nothign worked run a new ignition and 12v to a fused sourec

Couldn't it be something in the wiring harness(assuming he's using one) if hes getting power, but not turning on? Sounds like the switched source wire has come loose.
