Help With Wiring Sub/Amp

I probably won't turn it up that much. I just wanted to have the power now in case I upgrade later. One thing that confuses me is the wattage of the amp. If the sub is wired like it is in that diagram, will the amp be running at 4 ohms or at 2 ohms? At 4 ohms I should be able to turn the gain up more but at 2 ohms I would have to back it off some.

735 RMS for the Sub and 1000 or so for the amp....Too much power for the sub...Unless you set the gain real low.
Thats the proper way to wire for a 2ohm load..
Thanks. I'll just keep the gain turned down some. I bought the amp in case I wanted to add another sub in the future and because it was dirt cheap compared to other amps with less power.

Also, the sub will be in a sealed 1.5 cu. ft. box behind the front passenger seat in a small 4 door car. I used to have an extended cab Chevy full size truck with 2 12" Kicker Comps down firing to the floor in place of the back seat. I got virtually no distortion this way and it slammed hard so do you guys think I could do it again in a small car? I would say the car has a little less interior space than the truck did. Also, how much space needs to be between the sub's surface and the floor? IIRC, I had about 6" between the subs and the floor in that truck.
