Help with W7 thudding noise

I just installed my 13w7 and 1000/1 amp. At higher volumes I am getting the dreaded thudding noise from the w7. It is not distorted at all it's just making a thudding noise in between heavy bass notes. I have it in a ported box built and tuned to JL specs. Can someone help me on how to get rid of this dreaded noise? Thanks!

Gain on the 1000/1 is 1/4 of the way up and the gain on the head unit is at +2

The box is tuned to 34.59. I am playing the T.I. -king cd.

That means exactly dick to me, not my type of music. Really low bass? Below tuning low? If so there is the problem. You are unloading the sub and causing it to reach its excursion limit. Gain has nothing to do with it. Freq and tuning are all. Get a subsonic filter.

Yeah, sounds to me like the subsonic filter isn't set properly. There should be one on the amp. I bet you have it set to 0.

^x2...they make that huffing noise at times for some reason.

Nice driver though, there is just better (espcially for the money).

not every install ive heard with w7's has done that. It seems ot be more of a problem with the 13" than any other size.
