Help with subs in a 06 subaru legacy gt

Hello. I kind of know what I'm talking about but not a lot. I have a 06 legacy and you can't change the head unit so I have to use a high pass filter I think. This mid range through the subs and not just bass. I have a dual 400w amp and 2 10" subs (don't know what they are I got them my uncle. So my question is does anyone know how I would be able to change my head unit but I really don't want to do that or how I would get only bass through my subs.

its a bass enhancer for your sub amp,also get a better amp maybe one with a better crossover for the lowpass

Umm its something like a dual xf400. Its a 400 watt dual amp

cant find any specs for your amp but my guess would be that it is only 100 - 150 watts,which probably wont really push woofers unless they are very poor quality,is it a 2 channel amp of mono block

2 channel but they do hit pretty hard and its 150 rms

are your woofers single or dual voice coils and are they 2 ohm or 4

2 I'm pretty sure. Don't know about the coils. I'm gettung new speakers soon

well i would get at least a 500 watt rms amp 1 ohm stable ,i think you would be happy with that ,i've sold alot of starter systems to friends of my kids as their first setup and they were happy at least til they decided to get more power.i still have 5 or 6 customers that still have the same systems that i installed and sold them 3 or 4 years ago and they still love it

i've got 2 older fosgate 10s and a 800 watt rms massive nano amp ,and a bass enhancer [epicenter] all used that i could sell you at a good price all you would need is the box and wires

I'm tight money right now but soon I'm looking to upgrade thanks for all your help guys I'm gonna be going to bed ill look into all the things you guys said.
