Alright, you talked me into it, i need to sound deaden my doors. First off, how much will i need to do my two front doors. Second, what kind do you reccomend. Third, any tips or tricks for someone who has never done this?

Oh, and dont flame me. I have read the Sound Deadening & You FAQ stickied at the top of this fourm.

Thanks for the help, and remember, this is your fault.

Get brake cleaner and cloth

A plastic pin remover

Basic tools like flat head and screwdrivers etc...

A Sharp Knive

A cutting service, like MDF board to cut big piece into smaller ones

Gloves, or your hands will be fawked when your done

Remove the door panel and take off all the extra shit on the door

Leave only metal and wiring.

hose down with brake cleaner

Clean off surface

Get your deadner

Cut down to smaller pieces and deaded the inside layer first, then the outside.

You don't have to do the whole door, focus on where the speaker is.

Press into with hands/ roller and other tools firmly to make sure the contact is a solid one.

You don't want to have to redo it later.

You will need 15-25 sq feet per door

The more the better! Your speakers will have a solid base and structure to be mounted to. The more solid the base and environment that speaker is in, the less energy will be wasted on resonance and unnecessary vibration. All that vibration lost in your door skins is wasted sound. Overkill it!
