Help with shallow mounts and amp pairing.

Hi,

I'm new in the whole car audio business, but I've been looking for subs and an amp for my truck. It's a 1998 F-150 extended cab. I'm looking to do a custom installation under the back seat. I've almost decided on the MTX TT6512-02 or the TT6512-04 shallow mounts. I'm planning on installing 2 12's of whatever shallow mounts I decide on. I'd like to know if these subs are good enough, I've done some research and I've found that they have been praised pretty highly. Also, I'd like to know if the 2 ohm or 4 ohm would be better? And One final thing, what amp would you recommend to run these? I've been looking at an Alpine M1000 and a Polk PA1200.1. The most important thing for me is for them to hit hard while still having good sound quality.

I know this is a lot at once, but like I said, I'm new to this and I need all the help I can get.

Also, I came across these from Stereo Integrity: SI BM mkIII's. I haven't read much about these but what I have read is nothing but good. If anyone has any experience with any of these subs or some subs that are outstanding to you, any help would be appreciated.

Get a pair of them (4 ohm dvc). As for an amp, take a look at the Sundown saz-1000d, MB Quart DSC1000.1, Zed Kronos and Audioque AQ1200D. The Alpine MRP-M1000 is a decent choice too, but you'd need 2 ohm dvc subs if you decide to buy it. The Polk you're looking at is a pretty nice amp as well.

u will need 800 to 1000 watts at 1 ohm, alpinewill be fine

Thanks for the help guys. I've decided I'm gonna go with 2 SI BM's. But I'm still unclear on a good amp to support these as well as if it would be better to run them at 2 ohm or 4 ohm. If I'm gonna put this much into subs, I want to make sure that I have the right amount of power and have them set up right so I'm getting the best for my money.
