FedEx delivered my g/f's AA Assassin 10's today and I have been trying to design a sealed box for the back of her Kia sportage.
I would build her a ported box but the amp she has doesn't have a SSF on it and becuase she listens to a variety of music so I think sealed is her best option.
Ascendant Audio recommends .7ft^3 per sub sealed and 1.2ft^3 per sub ported @ 32Hz.
Basically I have come up with this.
Internal measurements = 11" tall x 11" deep x 24" long / 1.68055556ft^3 internal
Outer measurements = 12.5" tall x 12.5" deep x 25.5" long / 2.30577257ft^3 external.
This box doesn't exactly follow the golden ratio of 3:4:5 but does this design sound good to you guys?
Heres a paint of the box design plan:
If I have done my math right then the cuts we'll need are:
Top and Bottom = two 25.5" x 12.5" cuts
Sides = two 12.5"" x 11" cuts
Back = 24" x 11"
Baffle board = 24" x 11"
does that sound right?Do the joints look strong?
