Help** with remote turn not turning off!!!

Finished the grand cherokee today with the alpine m400 and ed 13kv.2 d4 got the 20 dollar loc from walmart and it works like a charm. only problem is the amp wont turn off

i thought i had the rem spliced with the factory h/u turn on which i found to be red with a white stripe (is this right?) but once it sees voltage it wont shut off

at first, once i remove and then put the power line fuse in, it wont turn on then i turn the car on and it starts.

once i turn the car off it stays on till i remove the fuse.

1 is this the right rem on line. (checked with dmm but it didnt help)

2 what should the dmm be switched to and what should it read?

dmm should be set to DC volts and range to 20. The reasing should be appx what the battery reads (12-14.4 volts)

You have to be on the wrong wire for the remote turn on. I'm not sure what color it is, but I think connecting to the ACC ignition wire would work.

Im confused.

Just find a wire that is switched with the ignition, and tap into that for your rem wire.

REM wire is usually blue with a white stripe, if that helps any.
